Brilliant Bainsla leads by 5 in US Kids Golf Indian Champs

Manesar, India: Prince Bainsla, who turns 16 later this month, produced the best card of the opening day of the three-day 2025 US Kids Golf Indian Championship at the Classic Golf and Country Club.

Bainsla, who has been supported by US Kids India, brought home a round of 6-under 66 in the Boys 15-18 section, and led another strong candidate, Arshvant Srivastava (71), who just could not get his birdie putts to drop.

Bainsla, who was the champion in the Boys 13-14 segment in 2024, got off t a whirlwind start with four birdies in his first four holes. Two more followed on the seventh and the ninth as he made the turn in a stunning 6-under 30. The birdie spree took a pause before he made his seventh birdie on the 12th. Five pars from the 13th to 17th saw him come to the closing hole at 7-under, where he dropped a shot on the Par-5 18th for his only dropped shot of the day.

Frustrating day for Arshvant

Arshvant had a frustrating day with five pars to begin with and then had a bogey followed by a birdie on the sixth and the seventh to turn in even par. A bogey on the 11th saw him go over par, but two good birdies on the 16th and the 18th ensured an under par score.

Rajesh Srivastava, President, US Kids Golf India, said: “With so many low scores on the opening day, it is indeed heartening to see US Kids Golf which is now well-established in India and spread across Asia, is produced quality golf.

“By next year, we will have more local events and there will be a lot of competitions featuring golfers from about a dozen Asian countries.  US Kids Golf is achieving its mission of taking the sport all over India and Asia. We now look forward to spreading it across Asia with India as the hub.”

Shashank Sachin Gadre carded even par in the highly competitive category.

Ridhima SIngh, leader in Girls 13-14

Another standout performer on the first day was Ridhima Singh in Girls 13-14. She opened with three six birdies and then came a bogey. On the back nine she bogeyed the 10th and the 12th, but rallied with birdies on the 14th and the 18th for a 68. She led by six shots over Shambhavi Chaturvedi and Shiksha Jain, who carded 74 each.
