Bystrice, Czech Republic, June 5: Diksha Dagar justified her playing a lower rung event with a Top-10 finish in the Czech Ladies Open on the Ladies European Access Tour on Saturday. Diksha, a one-time LET winner, shot her best round of the week with a 2-under 70 to finish 1-over 217 for the week in Tied-9th place.
Diksha, who shot 74-73 in the first two rounds, added 70 with the help of five birdies against three bogeys. Three of the birdies came on an error-free back nine, which should give Diksha a lot of confidence going into next week’s million-dollar Scandinavian Mixed Masters.
Yet another amateur surfaced as Sara Kouskova of the Czech Republic won the title with a dominant performance. She had rounds of 64-67-71 to total 14-under and win by eight shots over Nina Pegova of Russia, who carded 71-67-72.
Two other Czech amateurs, Klara Sionkova and Tereza Melecka and a Swiss amateur Elena Colombo and German pro, Verena Gimmy were tied for third at a distance 2-under total.
Last week at the Ladies European Tour’s Italian Open, French amateur Lucie Malchirand had won the title.
