Kapur is Tied-7thand still the best Indian. Viraj Madappa (71) and Rashid Khan (71) are lying T-16, while Ajeetesh Sandhu (74) playing alongside Kapur, also had a disappointing day with two bogeys in last three holes. Veteran Jyoti Randhawa (71) was T-36, while Aman Raj Raj (72) was T-42, SSP Chawrasia (74) was T-54 and Arjun Atwal (75) was T-66
Kapur started well with two birdies in first two holes and added a third on ninth. He parred the next five holes and was still 13-under, when disaster struck with three bogeys. “Not the finish you want, but a birdie after that was small consolation,” said Kapur, who has been runner-up in two of his last three starts.
Four-under after 12, Madappa also had a rough closing with bogeys on 13, 14, 15 and 17.
Jazz with an eagle on either side of the course shot 62 to seize the third-round lead. Jazz, 24, is enjoying a stellar season with two wins and six top-10s. He had two eagles and seven birdies against a bogey to lead by one shot over countryman Gunn Charoenkul (68) at 16-under-par 200 total.
With a total of 20 OWGR points on offer in what is the flagship event of the Asian Tour this week, Jazz will need to win the 2019 BNI Indonesian Masters to break into the world’s top-50 at the end of the season and secure his berth at The Masters next April.
Jazz tied the lowest 18-hole score in the tournament history with his third-round 62. Justin Rose of England carded two 62s in 2017 while Malaysia’s Nicholas Fung closed with a similar 62 in the last edition.
Jazz is the fourth Thai after Thongchai Jaidee, Thaworn Wiratchant and Kiradech Aphibarnrat to win the Asian Tour Order of Merit.
