Indians in action on either side of the Atlantic this week

The Indian golfers are slowly but steadily getting back into action. This week Indian golfers will be seen in action on either side of the Atlantic.

Anirban Lahiri returns to action for only the second time since March, when he starts the 2020-21 PGA Tour season at the Safeway Championship in Napa, California.

Lahiri spent almost the entire lockdown period in India and reached US just before Wyndham. Championship, which he played alongside Arjun Atwal.

Now Lahiri starts the new season, afresh after time with his coach, Vijay Divecha, in India, “I am raring to go,” said Lahiri.

On the Ladies European Tour (LET), Tvesa Malik continues her European journey with the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open alongside Diksha Dagar.

Last week Tvesa finished T-4th at the LET Access Tournament in Switzerland, where Diksha was T-47. Tvesa also made the cut and finished T-20 at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open. She had earlier made the cut at the Scottish Open, but missed the cut at the Women’s Open at the Royal Troon.

On the men’s European Tour, Shubhankar Sharma will be hoping to end a disappointing run when he tees up at the Portugal Masters at Vilamoura.

Sharma has been struggling for form since he arrived in Europe six weeks ago for the UK Swing and then the event in Spain.

It will be his seventh straight start, but he has made cut only once at the Celtic Classic, where he ended T63. He feels he has been playing alright, but not scoring. He will be hoping to get out of the rut and then maybe take a break before starting the second UK Swing with DDF Irish Open.

Meanwhile Gaganjeet Bhullar and SSP Chawrasia have confirmed that they will soon be in the thick of action on the European Tour.
