Jeev finishes seventh, as Adilson da Silva wins Vinpearl DIC Legends in Vietnam

Jeev Milkha SIngh finished Tied 7th in Legends event in Vietnam as Adilson da Silva emerged winner

NHA TRANG: India’s Jeev Milkha Singh finished tied-seventh in the 2023 Vinpearl DIC Legends, as Brazilian Adilson Da Silva won the title recently in Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa Province. The three-day 54-hole event was the first Legends Tour in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

Another Indian legend, Jyoti Randhawa (67-76-73) was T-16.

Jeev, who has been having a good season, shot rounds of 69-73-69 for a total of 2-under 211. It was good week for the Indian legend despite a disastrous start in the second round, when he had two birdies and a double in first four holes.

He had four bridies and two bogeys in first round, four birdies, four bogeys and a double on the second day and three birdies against one bogey on the final day.

Adilson da Silva had three solid rounds of 66-69-68 for a total of 10-under 205, as Australian Scott Hend (66-74-66) was second at 7-under and Ricardo Gonzalez (69-71-67) of Argentina and former US Open winner, Michael Campbell, was third with cards of 69-68-70 at 6-under each.

Joakim Haeggman and Andrew Marshall, who were placed third after the first two days dropped in the rankings.

Da Silva had a solid final day. He had one birdies and one bogey on front nine then three birdies in a row from holes 10-12 saw him pull away. A birdie at 17 and a par at 18 confirmed him as the champion of the first DIC Legends event with 10-under 216. He received US$93,500 and the walked away with the prestigious trophy.

Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023, a Professional Golf tournament within the framework of Legends Tour, was held for the first time in Vietnam. The tournament received attention and was supported by many prestigious organizations and enterprises including: Vinpearl, VinFast, DIC Group, Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), GELEX Infrastructure Joint Stock Company, Petrolimex Singapore Company Limited, Vietnam Airlines.
