Stockholm, Sweden, June 11: Shubhankar Sharma was unable to maintain the tempo of the bogey free second round of 68 as he carded a roller-coaster 71 to dip to T-50th in the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed after a roller coaster day three at Ullna Golf and Country Club.

Sharma had two birdies against three bogeys on the front nine and three birdies against one bogey on the back nine in his 71. The field was cut to 65 professionals and ties after 36 holes

It has been an up-and-down ride this week with 75-68-71 and he has had 12 birdies against eight bogeys and a double bogey in three days.

Diksha Dagar had missed the cut in the event which started with 78 men and 78 women in a mixed field for two million dollars.

Dale Whitnell, 34, stayed ahead on course for a maiden DP World Tour title after a roller coaster day.

The Englishman entered the weekend with a six-shot lead and after seven holes had stretched that to eight despite low scores from some of the early starters. He was 19-under with a four-shot advantage over Germany’s Yannik Paul.

After two bogey free days with rounds of 66-61 that included 15 birdies and one eagle, Whitnell had one bogey and two doubles on the third day. He also had seven birdies as he shot 2-under 70 on the third day.

It is Whitnell’s first 54-hole lead on the DP World Tour but he is a winner on the European Challenge Tour.

Scotland’s Richie Ramsay was then at 13 under, one shot clear of Dutchwoman Anne van Dam, who carded a stunning 63 to lead the female charge at the event which has seen 78 men and 78 women play the same course for one trophy and one prize fund.

England’s Gabriella Cowley and Matthew Jordan, American Sean Crocker and local favourite Madelene Sagstrom were at 11 under, a shot clear of another English player in Paul Waring, Spaniard Angel Hidalgo, Dane Søren Kjeldsen and Frenchman Frederic Lacroix.
